IS YOUR WORKPLACE CLEAN?
Dirtbusters clean lots of upholstery in offices across Liverpool, as well as taking care of miles of commercial carpet cleaning in Warrington and The Wirral. But what about the rest of the office? Does your in-house cleaner get into the parts that matter the most!
Some offices I go into are home to hundreds of staff, some cleaner and more sanitary than others, so its not a surprising fact to learn that some toilet seats are cleaner than most keyboards.
Here are some places that need more cleaning than what they possibly receive now –
This piece of equipment is possibly the one thing that harbours more bacteria than any other thing in the whole office – over twenty-five thousand of them. These primarily come from mouths, as well as hands.
Another good breeding ground for yucky stuff. Here you may find over twenty thousand bacteria!
Not unsurprisingly, the mouse usually shows over fifteen hundred bacterias upon random checks.
THE EFFECT OF DIRTY OFFICE ENVIRONMENTS
There are 2 different things to take into account here.
Sick days cost companies lots of money, this is then usually passed on indirectly to the public in one way or another. If you think its risky shaking hands with colleagues, then take into account all of the above points and then you will see why so many people are off sick each week.
Who wants to work in a grotty smelly office? I see the little cubicles when I clean office carpets in Liverpool, everyone has a picture of the family, a stash of sweets etc. A bit like a home from home. And that’s what it is, some spend more time in the office then they do at home (apart from sleeping) so of course, a dirty environment will create a gloomy depressing place.
SO WHAT SHOULD WE ALL DO ABOUT THIS DIRTY DILEMMA?
Start at your own workstation. It’s your place so just a few minutes a day will really help. Use antibacterial wipes for the keyboard, phone etc.
You will probably notice the person next to you follows the trend in a keeping up with the neighbours fashion.
Ask the cleaning staff to make sure the filters in the vacuum cleaners are clean and efficient.
Draw up a rota for the kitchen clean (if the in-house cleaners do not do it) It may be better giving that a wipe down rather than doing the accounts anyway!
So I suppose the best way to get the office spick n span is through teamwork.
